Have you ever dreamed of crossing the Pyrenees from sea to sea? This journey takes you through hidden valleys, legendary passes, and villages where time seems to have stopped. It’s the mountains at their purest: adrenaline, breathtaking landscapes, and the challenge of mastering every curve.

Detailed Itinerary

📍 DAY 1 – From the Mediterranean to the Eastern Pyrenees

Barcelona → Figueres → Cap de Creus → Font-Romeu

Approx. distance: 280 - 300 km

Departure from Barcelona heading north through Catalonia until reaching the spectacular Cap de Creus Lighthouse, the easternmost point of the Iberian Peninsula. From here, the ascent into the Pyrenees begins, crossing mountain roads and passes such as Coll del Frare, Coll d'en Xatard, and Coll de la Quillana. Arrival in Font-Romeu, in the French Pyrenees. Overnight in Font-Romeu.

 

📍 DAY 2 – Mythical Passes of the French Pyrenees

Font-Romeu → Ax-les-Thermes → Saint-Girons

Approx. distance: 250-270 km

The journey heads into the heart of the French Pyrenees, climbing some of the most spectacular passes of the Tour de France. First, the imposing Col de Pailhères, followed by the breathtaking Port de Lers. The route continues through Col de la Core before reaching the charming Pyrenean village of Saint-Girons. Overnight in Saint-Girons.

 

📍 DAY 3 – The Giants of the Tour

Saint-Girons → Bagnères-de-Luchon → Laruns

Approx. distance: 270-290 km

One of the most legendary days of the route, linking several Pyrenean colossi. The day includes the spectacular Port de Balès, followed by the famous Col d'Aspin. The highlight arrives with the stunning Col d'Aubisque, one of the most spectacular roads in Europe. Overnight in Laruns.

 

📍 DAY 4 – From the French Pyrenees to Navarre

Laruns → Col du Pourtalet → Somport → Isaba

Approx. distance: 240-260 km

Departure from Laruns, crossing the border once again via the impressive Col du Pourtalet. The route continues toward the historic Somport Pass, a traditional gateway between France and Spain. The day ends in the spectacular Pyrenean valley of Isaba, in the heart of the Navarrese Pyrenees. Overnight in Isaba.

 

📍 DAY 5 – From the Navarrese Pyrenees to the Atlantic

Isaba → Larrau → Izpegi → Faro de Higuer

Approx. distance: 250-270 km

The route continues through some of the most spectacular passes of the Western Pyrenees. We climb the impressive Larrau Pass, followed by the stunning Col d'Irau. Next is the Izpegi Pass before reaching the Atlantic at the Higuer Lighthouse, near Hondarribia. Overnight on the Basque Coast.

 

📍 DAY 6 – The Return through the Spanish Pyrenees

Hondarribia → Roncesvalles → Aínsa

Approx. distance: 320–340 km

The return journey toward the Mediterranean begins, crossing the Spanish Pyrenees. The route traverses historic sites such as Roncesvalles before continuing toward the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees. Stage ends in Aínsa, one of the most spectacular medieval villages in the Pyrenees. Overnight in Aínsa.

 

📍 DAY 7 – From the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean

Aínsa → Andorra → Barcelona

Approx. distance: 300–320 km

The final day, crossing the Central Pyrenees heading east. The route ascends toward Andorra through mountain passes and panoramic roads before descending back toward Catalonia. Final arrival in Barcelona. End of the journey.
