Who says three days aren’t enough for a great adventure? Vertiginous gorges, wild rivers, and traditional villages create a stage that demands your attention and awakens all your senses. Here, you don’t come to look—you come to feel the grandeur of the Picos de Europa under your wheels.

Detailed Itinerary

📍 DAY 1 – Covadonga Lakes and the Heart of the Central Massif

Cangas de Onís → Covadonga Lakes → Sotres

Approx. distance: 110–130 km

Departure from Cangas de Onís heading towards the Sanctuary of Covadonga, one of Asturias' most iconic landmarks.

From here, we begin the climb to the spectacular Covadonga Lakes—one of Spain’s most famous mountain roads, featuring tight hairpins and incredible views over the Picos de Europa.

After descending from the lakes, the route continues into the heart of the eastern massif, crossing small mountain villages until reaching Sotres, one of the highest and most authentic towns in the Picos de Europa.

Overnight in Sotres or surrounding area.

 

📍 DAY 2 – Gorges and Cantabrian Valleys

Sotres → La Hermida → Potes → Fuente Dé

Approx. distance: 120–150 km

The day begins with a descent toward the impressive La Hermida Gorge, one of the most breathtaking roads in Northern Spain.

After riding through this spectacular natural canyon, we arrive in Potes, widely considered one of the most beautiful villages in Cantabria.

The route carries on to Fuente Dé, famous for its cable car and the stunning vertical limestone walls of the Picos de Europa central massif.

Overnight in Potes or surrounding area.

 

📍 DAY 3 – Mountain Passes and the Return to Asturias

Potes → San Glorio → Valdeón → Los Beyos → Cangas de Onís

Approx. distance: 160–180 km

The final big riding day, traversing some of the wildest landscapes in the National Park.

The route climbs the spectacular San Glorio Pass, offering sweeping views over the valleys of León and Cantabria.

We then enter the Valdeón Valley, surrounded by some of the park's most imposing peaks.

The return to Asturias takes us through the stunning Los Beyos Gorge, a narrow and dramatic road carved between vertical rock walls.

Final arrival in Cangas de Onís.

End of the journey.
