Detailed Itinerary

📍 DAY 1 – From the Mediterranean to Morocco’s Cultural Heart

Ceuta → Chefchaouen → Fez

Approx. distance: 270–300 km

After disembarking the ferry in Ceuta, the African adventure begins. The route heads into the Rif Mountains, passing through the spectacular "Blue City" of Chefchaouen, before continuing to Fes—one of Morocco’s most fascinating Imperial Cities. Overnight in Fes.

📍 DAY 2 – Crossing the Atlas towards the Desert

Fez → Ifrane → Midelt → Valle del Ziz → Merzouga

Approx. distance: 450–470 km

An epic day riding across the Middle Atlas. The route passes through Ifrane, known as the "Moroccan Switzerland," and continues toward the increasingly arid landscapes of the south. The dramatic Ziz Valley signals our arrival at the desert, leading us to the foot of the Sahara dunes in Merzouga. Overnight in Merzouga.

📍 DAY 3 – Sahara Desert Experience

Merzouga → Erg Chebbi → Merzouga

Approx. distance: 40–80 km (depending on activities)

A day dedicated to enjoying the desert. Options include riding the off-road tracks surrounding the Erg Chebbi dunes, visiting Berber villages, or simply relaxing while taking in one of Morocco’s most magical landscapes. The sunset over the dunes is a truly unforgettable highlight of the trip. Overnight in Merzouga.

📍 DAY 4 – From the Sahara to the High Atlas Canyons

Merzouga → Alnif → Tinghir → Todra Gorge → Dades Gorge

Approx. distance: 260–280 km

The route leaves the desert to enter the mountainous landscapes of the southern Atlas. The path crosses oases and traditional villages until reaching the spectacular Todra Gorge. The day ends at the breathtaking Dades Gorge, surrounded by unique rock formations and winding roads. Overnight in Dades Gorge.

📍 DAY 5 – The Route of the Thousand Kasbahs

Dades Gorge → Valley of the Roses → Skoura → Ouarzazate

Approx. distance: 150–170 km

A more relaxed stage through the famous Valley of the Roses and the historic Route of the Thousand Kasbahs. Palm groves, mud-brick villages, and Berber fortresses accompany our arrival in Ouarzazate—known as the "Gateway to the Desert" and a major Moroccan filming hub. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

📍 DAY 6 – High Atlas Loop and Aït Ben Haddou

Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Telouet → High Atlas → Ouarzazate

Approx. distance: 180–200 km

A circular route to explore one of Morocco’s most iconic sites: the legendary Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou. From there, the road climbs through High Atlas landscapes and traditional villages before returning to Ouarzazate after a day filled with history and spectacular scenery. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

📍 DAY 7 – Crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass

Ouarzazate → High Atlas → Tizi n’Tichka → Marrakech

Approx. distance: 200–210 km

One of the most famous roads in the country. The route ascends the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the heart of the High Atlas, featuring endless hairpin turns and panoramic views. After crossing the mountain range, the descent toward the vibrant "Red City" of Marrakech begins. Overnight in Marrakech.

📍 DAY 8 – Heading Back to Northern Morocco

Marrakech → Beni Mellal → Ifrane → Fez

Approx. distance: 480–500 km

A long stage traversing a large part of the country. From the central plains, the road climbs back into the Middle Atlas, passing through green landscapes and traditional villages until returning once more to the historic city of Fes. Overnight in Fes.

📍 DAY 9 – From Inland Morocco back to the Mediterranean

Fez → Chefchaouen → Ceuta

Approx. distance: 270–300 km

The final day of the trip, once again crossing the Rif Mountains. The route offers one last chance to enjoy Moroccan roads before returning to Ceuta to catch the ferry back, bringing this Sahara-bound adventure to an end. End of the journey.
